New Age Practices to Avoid!

The Devil's goal is to persuade humanity that God is not real specifically Christians and as the Body of Christ, we need to be aware of Satan's devices. In today's topic I will discuss New Age Practices to avoid, and why.

1. Tarot Cards

Tarot Cards are linked to divination. Tarot cards are used to unlock the secrets to one's future through the occult and supernatural means, and the Bible specifically prohibits divination. "Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you." (Deuteronomy 18:10-13 NIV) The only one that knows someone's future and what will happen in one's future is God. (Isaiah 46:10 NIV)

2. Yoga

One may think that Yoga are just exercises when in fact they are not. Yoga poses represent a pagan god or goddess. Many of these yoga studios worship idol statues and may even have their students chant to these false deities. God is the only one that deserves and that should be worshipped! "Fear the Lord your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name. Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you." (Deuteronomy 6:13-14 NIV)

3. Zodiac Signs

Believe it or not Zodiac Signs are also a new age practice that should be avoided! Like Tarot Cards, Zodiac signs are linked to divination. Zodiac signs are used as a source to receive information, guidance, and revelation. If you need guidance, revelation, and information look to God!

4. Sage

Sage is used to "smudge" things whether that be people, places, or items. In fact, using sage is a form of exorcism. Instead of looking to plants to cast out demons and unclean spirits, look to Jesus of Nazareth. He is the only one that can cast out demons and unclean spirits. “Be quiet!” said Jesus sternly. “Come out of him!” The impure spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek. The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, "What is this? A new teaching-and with authority! He even gives orders to impure spirits, and they obey him.” (Mark 1:25-27 NIV)

5. Meditation

New Age Mediation focuses on emptying the mind, and this is dangerous. Trying to empty the mind is dangerous because it allows demons to infiltrate your mind and give you false messages that you may think are from God truly aren't from God. If you want to meditate, meditate on the Word of God. Read a section from the Bible and focus on what that section talked about, when you meditate on the Word of God you are focusing on the scripture and Jesus!
